Hello! I’m an author and editor, and I currently live in Brooklyn, New York.
I graduated with a BA in English and a BA in Advertising from the University of Georgia and an MFA in Writing for Children from the New School. I spend a large portion of my time petting dogs, and I’m not sure I’d ever finish writing a novel without the help of sour candy.
I’ve written four YA novels, and I’ve edited three YA anthologies. My first novel, GIRL OUT OF WATER, is a coming-of-age story about a California surfer girl sent to landlocked Nebraska for the summer to care for her younger cousins. My second novel, YOU ASKED FOR PERFECT, explores the effects of intense academic pressure through the eyes of a teenage Valedictorian-to-be. My third novel, RECOMMENDED FOR YOU, takes place in an independent bookstore during the holidays and is the workplace romcom of my heart. My fourth novel, THOSE SUMMER NIGHTS, explores grief through laughter as Hannah Klein tries to heal from the loss of her bubbie and the loss of her soccer career at a multiplex entertainment center full of wild co-workers, cute boys, and an ex best friend.
My first anthology, IT’S A WHOLE SPIEL, is a collection of fiction short stories about Jewish teenagers. My second anthology, UP ALL NIGHT, contains thirteen stories about what can happen between sunset and sunrise. And my third anthology, GAME ON, is all about games – from sports to board games to virtual reality.
